Hello to all, I have a Quadraverb that I love. Right now she is very ill. The first symptoms were her LCD was fading and went blank all together. I presume that the LCD needs to be replaced. I've been mixing live sound for about 20 years, though I am not an electrical engineer. The only tool I have is a multi-tester.

If anyone would care to share some ideas with me, I would greatly appreciate it. Please don't suggest I take it to a service center. The closest one that would even know what a QuadraVerb is two hours away in Atlanta. I have tried to find an LCD replacement part.
I could only find one company that had an QuadraVerb LCD and they quoted almost $80.00. I thought was way to much. I would also be interested in buying a used or non-working unit.

Cheap way to get parts too. With a coupleof units, you should be able to keep your favorite effects working well past their supported lifetimes.:-) If LCD is totally out, but unit still works otherwise, look for bad driver IC or transistors for that part of the circuit. If LCD is only dim, it could be a leaky filter capacitor. If there's a component that's loading something down a great deal, you can look for it by feel.
See if there's an unusually warm transistor, driver IC or capacitor (besides regulators or current limiting resistors in the supply, which are normally hot). Could also be something as simple as a cracked solder joint where a lead goes through a pad or a bad flat ribbon connector, etc. I'm sure you'll get it working, but you may have to invest a little to prove how much you like the sound of that thing.:-) Skler Scott Dorsey 12.8.07. The orange LED backlight from QuadraVerb, DataDisk, and BRC are all above their MTBF. I managed to replace the backlight in my BRC display with a backlight taken from a LCD I bought for $20. Only drawback was, that it is now green instead of orange.
If only the backlight is gone, it should be possible to see the letters if you shine a light to the display at an angle. It might still be in their current incarnation but it's true that they do seem to have forgotten a lot of older products. It's at least worth calling to ask. Please let me know. You wll need to order a new one, and $80 is probably fair. I picked up a Quadraverb on Ebay 18 months ago for about $75.
