Golden Key Exploits Unlimited Golden Keys Hack (PC Version) To get unlimited free golden keys, you have to have 1 or more already in stock, and go to your Borderlands 2 save games folder (usually My Documents/My Games/Borderlands 2/WillowGame/SaveData/###########). In that folder you'll find a file named profile.bin.

Borderlands

Make a backup copy, then set the original to read-only (right-click, properties, Read-only checkbox, Apply). Then load up Borderlands, spend your golden keys, and quit the game. When you start again, all your golden keys will be back!

Once you're done getting all the free gear you want, quit Borderlands 2 and set the profile.bin file back to normal. To get Golden Keys when you don't already have any, you have to revert Borderlands 2 for PC to the unpatched, vanilla version, and go into the install directory. Go into the folder titled 'dlc', and find a document titled, 'willow.'

Before editing, make a backup. Open the file and change the golden key section, delete the =1 and place in =250, you should now have 250 golden keys! Unlimited Golden Keys (PS3) You need a flash drive and atleast one golden key to do this.

Once you put your code in for a golden key go into the game and make sure you have it. Once that is done save and quit. Completely exit the game. On the XMB menu go to saved data utility folder. There will be atleast 2 saved files in here, your character data, and your profile data.

Put your USB into your system and save the profile data onto your USB. Then go back into the game and use your golden key. After that save and quit your game and quit then go back to the XMB menu. Once you do that go back to the saved utility folder and open up your USB folder and copy your profile data back onto your PS3.

Repeat this process and you have unlimited golden keys.

IF you know what you are doing (take backups, edit config files) then try looking at WillowGame.ini file in Documents My Games Borderlands 2 WillowGame Config directory. In section Engine.PlayerController there is a setting bOverrideOnlineProfileName=false and in section DefaultPlayer there is the Name=Player setting. Changing the first one to true might change your name to Player (or to any value you set). However, I have no idea if this works, but these sure look like the right settings.

Obviously Borderlands doesnt like the characters your name is made with. If you want it changed then you'll have to change the name yourself.

Your Steam name is what shows up in game, if the game doesnt show your name correctly then the logical thing to do would be to change your name to something else OR deal with the fact that Borderlands doesnt like special characters in Steam names. In any case, its a problem with the characters in your name, as they arent normal letters you cant really complain about something not showing them correctly. Its always been like this btw. CJ, you're not getting it. Borderland 2 takes your Steam name and uses it when in multiplayer mode. It doesn't give you a choice as to which steam name to use (so you can't choose an alias). Borderland 2 also does not display non-english characters properly while using English version.

It has nothing to do with the characters name themselves but the Steam name that Borderland 2 uses and displays for multiplayer. Special chars have been used since the 80s.

Goty

It's silly that Gearbox's programmers didn't expect it, specially for a game that has was was expected to be translated into many languages including russian, chinese, and japanese that uses non-english alphabet. There really isn't any excuse for not supporting it or giving a means to players a way to provide a 'english translation' of their steam name.
