Well, I downloaded 4 torrents: one from TPB, one from Extratorrent, and two from GFXPeers (private tracker, which generally is more reliable). Just wait it to complete, like a regular download 5- done, enjoy your movie/software/book/music/etc There are public trackers, like The Pirate Bay, 1337x, RARBG etc, that everyone can access and download (try to access one of it now, you'll see how easy it is); and private trackers, like PTP, REDACTED, GTXPeers, AR etc, that one needs an invite to get in and start sharing. This subreddit has more information about it, if you want. While public trackers are easier to access, private trackers are usually safer and have better quality (or focused) material. 2/3 - Hashes Hashes, also called checksums, are a sort of 'code' of each existing file.
Hashes of two different files cannot be equal, therefore each file has its own unique hash. It's like our DNA: each person has one unique DNA, which is different from any other existing DNA. So, hashes are usually used to check the integrity of a file. For example: I have a file called 'example.exe' and I want to post it online. People will want to download it, but they can't be sure that the file they're downloading is legit, even if it has the same name. What if some hacker modified this file and transformed it into a malware? These kinds of things commonly happen with cracks and keygens, that's why people usually post the hash codes of the legit things.
Therefore, if a file has been modified, it won't have the same hash as the legit/original/unmodified one. In this example, one way to avoid this problem would be: alongside with 'example.exe', I could post its original hash value, so people who download it could check against and be sure they got it legit. One way to check hashes is installing a free software called HashTab, by Implbits.
Then, you can just right click any file go to 'Properties' go to 'File Hashes' tab and it will show you the file hash values. Then you can compare it with the ones I posted.
